Gaslamp

After a 6 hour car ride, my family and I finally made it to San Diego. First stop: Gaslamp! I was able to sneak a few snapshots while waiting for our table at Urban Bar & Grill. The food was alright. I ordered a flat bread pizza, some strawberry cocktail, and truffle mac and cheese. The weather was amazing though! I can't wait to go exploring tomorrow morning with the family!

Holy Grail: Foundation

I have tried countless of foundations from low end to high end. Never have I found a foundation that I have repurchased over and over again...until now. The Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H foundation(phew that's a mouth full) IS no doubt my HG(holy grail) foundation. Now what makes this so HG worthy? Well, it just works with my skin type and caters to all of my needs. I have combination skin, acne prone, and I have hyper pigmentation.

Let's start with the coverage. One pump is a medium-full coverage. Usually I like to do 1 1/2 pumps to get a fuller coverage. The great thing about this foundation is the finish is a velvety demi matte. So its not flat, but its not dewy AND it looks like skin. I have used this foundation year round and I think it works with any weather. Its lightweight and as the day goes on, it almost molds with your skin and looks even better than when you first applied it. I use a buffing brush to apply it on my face and blending it is a dream! I set the foundation with the Lancome Dual Finish Powder and after that I also dust a little bit of Tarte's Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder.

I sometimes stray away and try other foundations. Lately I've been trying out the Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation and while it is great, I still come back to this one because the finish is more natural. The longevity of this product claims to last for 24 hours. Now, I've never worn this product for a straight 24 hours, BUT I can say that I've put it on during the morning, went to work, went out with my friends, drank a little too much and fell asleep, woke up and my face still looked good! This doesn't happen often, for obvious reasons (its bad for your skin, duh) But it really shows that this product lasts all day. Normally I re-apply powder once during the day just to stop any excess oils from seeping through. And after that I'm good to go for another 6-8 hours.

The shade range for this product is amazing! 18 beautiful shades from cool, neutral, and warm tones. I wear 320 Bisque W its a yellow based color. The letter after the number corresponds to the undertone of the foundation. C for cool, N for neutral, and W for warm. This product costs $45.00 it is on the higher end of the spectrum, but its well worth the money. I kid you not I am probably on my 10th bottle. I have been wearing this foundation since about January 2012!

I hope you found this helpful and thank you for reading!

Denim, Denim, Denim

I got out of school early today so I decided to take a few pictures for you all. I'm really loving anything that's soft and fresh for spring. And what's fresher than denim on denim!? I wore this outfit to school....minus the (faux) fur haha!

I love the way my orange belt offsets all this denim!

All those flowers were making me sneeze while I was taking pictures. Spring isn't my favorite season for that reason... allergies! -__-

Look effortless this season in an all denim ensemble! The trick is to wear two different washes and pair it with neutrals like white, black, or cream. I decided to add a pop of color with my belt... because, why not? And it was a bit chilly today so I decided to pull the look together with a faux fur stole. It adds a touch of luxury to an otherwise very casual outfit.

Thank you all so much for reading. I hope you had fun! Until next time...

Wine Vest & Dripping C's

As the weather starts to really warm up, I find myself reaching for my shorts more often. When I'm not at work, I refuse to wear pants! I just hate getting all sweaty in this hot Vegas weather. I prefer showing some leg and staying cool!

Beanies, beanies, beanies...a huge trend we're seeing on the streets and on the runway since last fall. I have fallen in love with this beanie from Crown The Queens (for obvious reasons..) and it gives any outfit an instant boost in coolness points.

Another thing I have been loving ( and I have been wearing this like, literally all the time) is this wine faux leather moto vest. When I put it on, I just feel so biker chic but its not heavy like a leather moto jacket... Which means I can totally skip around Vegas without sweating like crazy. And the best part about this vest? I got it for $17 from Forever 21... STEAL! One random day I went in to look at accessories and this beauty was just sitting on top of a rack and I immediately gravitated towards it.

Monochromatic

Happy Friday everyone! I couldn't get home in time to catch some sun for some pictures, but that didn't stop me! I wanted to take a few snap shots of my outfit for tonight. A few of my friends and I are going to the Cosmopolitan for a birthday celebration. I didn't want to look too overdressed since we are just going to be inside a suite. So I opted for an oversized sweater and some shorts!

I recently purchased this sweater from Zara and I'm obsessed! I love the baroque embroidered detail and the cutouts. A perfect piece to transition into spring. Plus, its all white which is great for the upcoming season. I got in a size medium so I can easily wear it with shorts and not look like I'm drowning in some white fabric. Don't you just love how it shows just the right amount of skin?

I feel like the photos look as if Im totally drunk in some random street and can't find my way home. Can you say gutter chic?

22

Happy Birthday to me! I turned 22 today so I have to look fab! I usually hate planning my birthday because I was never the type to really do anything extravagant. But tonight I'm going to dinner with my closest friends, maybe go downtown, and go from there!

With spring being right around the corner, I thought I'd share my take on one of the trends that will be rolling in this season: Black and white contrast.

With all the bright colors, heavily embellished clothes, and loud prints of last season, it was a surprise to see so much black and white on the runway for Spring/Summer 2013! From Celine to Valentino , the classic black and white with a bold twist is definitely going to be a trend I'm looking forward to rocking in the next couple of months!

This faux fur collar makes me feel so fabulous!

I chose mostly black and gold for my accessories. I did add my turquoise arty ring just to give it that unexpected pop of color!

New Year, New Beginnings

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful time during the holidays! I didn't get to do a blogpost for my Christmas outfit because I was sick with the stomach flu. I was very upset everyone was having a good time while I was bed ridden and couldn't eat any of the delicious food ):

But I'm all better now and I'm excited to show you what I wore for NYE!

So to ring in the New Year, I decided to go for a very festive ensemble. I wasn't going to an extravagant event but I still wanted to dress up! I went for this emerald blazer because Filipino superstition says that if you wear the color of money on NYE, the new year will bring you lots of money! But not only that, emerald was actually named the pantone color of 2013. So you will definitely see a lot of this color for the upcoming spring season.

For my top I picked out this really fun guitar printed shirt that really brings out the orange belt.

For my pants I chose navy skinny slacks topped off with taupe oxfords. Also, I wore burgundy socks to add more color to the palette because why not? Its NYE!!
